The generating unit is equipped with a Francis turbine and can be used in four different ways. It can produce electricity at a speed of 500 rpm or pump water at a speed of 375 rpm.

The power station is located near Folgefonna National Park, and much of the inflow comes from the glacier there. The water system is constructed following the rain gutter principle, where water is drawn from many reservoirs and collected in a common headrace tunnel.

The water regulating area covers the northern and north-western side of Folgefonna in the municipalities of Kvinnherad, Jondal和Ullensvang. Lake Juklavatn is regulated between 1,060 and 950 metres above sea level, while Lake Dravladalsvatn is regulated between 957 and 880 metres. Lake Jukladalsvatn can be regulated between 1,083 and 950 metres above sea level.

The power plant has a gross height of fall and pump height of 230 metres.

After production in Jukla, water is transferred to the intake reservoirs for Mauranger power plant: Lake Svartedalsvatn and Lake Mysevatn. Jukla can also pump water from Lakes Svartedalsvatn and Mysevatn up to higher reservoirs.

The power plant began production in 1974 with an installed capacity of 40 MW. 十大最好的网赌平台's subsidiary Skagerak Energi also has an ownership stake in the plant.
